I read a book this past summer by Ray Bradbury entitled Dandelion Wine. It's the quintessential summer book. Leaves fleeting feelings. The reason for the title is all summer the grandfather makes and stores dandelion wine, and then all through the year everyone sips it and get a taste of summer. Photos are my dandelion wine. I look at these now and I feel a lot of familiar feelings. These particular pictures are all disposables, and are all from Poland, save for the underwater ones. If anyone sees these I hope it reminds them of the beauty of summer, too.
I want to say something self-deprecating here BUT I WON'T
We obviously had a lot of fun. Now I can go cry about it.
Everybody Make a Scene

I love Halloween mostly because putting on a costume makes people act a little more wild. Stepping out of yourself can be good for forgetting about restrictions, inhibitions.
I haven't had a proper costume for years, but I finally got my shit together this year, and dressed up as a character from my favorite graphic novel, Sandman. Her name is Delirium and she is of the endless. I definitely took my costume pretty far in terms of delirious behavior.
Far too much love.
I'm sad Halloween is over. It's my favorite holiday and the high point of fall, for me. I keep wanting to delve into everything spooky but I feel like the time has past. I know it doesn't matter, in reality, though. I'm probably just going to keep going on walks in cloudy weather and convincing myself of terrifying things. Creep on.

I turned 21 on the 26th. The ensuing photos are mostly not taken by me, but by Vanessa, who decided to be the photographer when she figured out how fun my instax was (my birthday present to myself). I had to post them regardless, because they're really fun (as stated above)
Let me introduce the photographer, seemingly on a swing into infinity. Vanessa turned 21 herself a week before, and my party might as well have been her party too, because that's how it works.
"Pogo" by Digitalism has been my happy song for 4 years now?? Gosh.
I am surrounded by pretty attractive people. (So CuUuUUUute so cUtutte)
I spilled water on C but she still manages to be perfect. Sitting perfectly in the chair that is now can end in its chair life as it has been sat on by her...
H. doubles as a cartoon witch I believe? Sometimes. It's conjecture, really.
The sad thing about this picture is that I was so excited for this kiss oh my goodness there were soft lips and the prettiest sweetest girl and she has a pretty mouth and it was on my mouth but the actual moment was captured on the first shot of the roll aka not an actual photo by just the cover.
Jesus with Farrah Fawcett hair who is going to buy this guy a motorcycle where is the justice in this world.
I love this picture so much because I can't tell you exactly what she said to me but I can tell you that it was one of the nicest things that anyone's ever said to me and you can see that. It's rare that I want to bust out that cliche of "a picture's worth a thousand words".
Also at this party I got hit on by a girl I thought was cute for the FIRST TIME in my LIFE. It was so exciting I jumped around. This is how the conversation went (sorta you know)
Her: So I'm gonna see you friday, right?
Me: Yeah, yes, I mean what's happening friday?
H: I mean I'm going to see you friday, right? We're going to see each other?
M: Sure! But, is there anything going on?
H: Oh, friday is fuck Maja night.
M: What? Stop, stop (blushing blushing blushing)
H: That's what you want, isn't it?
M: Shut up ohmygod shutupshutup
and so on
good
This party was really interesting because I got sick a few days before and I couldn't drink but it was really fun (cantcha tell?) regardless. The night of my 21st I went to a bar just for the photo booth. I'm big on film. What can I say.

New York, I Love You
Thursday, September 19, 2013
There's nothing wrong with a cliched title when it's referencing an LSD Soundsystem song, right? I took these back in March when I went to visit my brother in New York and my good friend Julia at her college in Massachusetts.
Chinatown has cheap produce.
Dolls by some dolls.
Bao Haus
Self portrait in Riverside park
Comstock
Barnard
The last two I did in the spring with some ink of a friend. I need my own! I am in desperate need of art supplies. Looking at these pictures makes me miss this trip, again. I would like to repeat it in the near future. Smith College is otherwise known as heaven.

A Hippie in Poland, a Tale
Monday, September 16, 2013
My boy and I went to Poland this past summer to visit my family and to drink alcohol while it's still a novelty (I'm turning 21 next week!!) and generally be white Americans with enough money to stomp around the old country. He liked it a lot, but wished there was more hippies. Taking someone with me made me examine more the way culture shapes our lives. I surround myself with lots of talk of sustainability and Earth love and capitalism has been nothing but good (...) for Poland, so it was very different, and I was told by my extremely smart cousin that peak oil theory was insane.
I took some pictures, too.
The Hippie, in a Greatful Dead sweater made by The Family, no less
The last picture is of me, flower by me but me by the boy.
